The Arctic Science Summit Week 2019 was held from May 22-29 at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University and Northern State Medical University, Russia, Arkhangelsk. As an incoming IASC fellow, I was able to attend IASC meetings, the Social & Human Working Group business meetings, and the Indigenous Inclusion Action Group meeting. I was also able to present on my own research in Hudson Bay, and to meet many scholars from across the Russian Arctic. One of the best parts was spending the week with Inupiat scholar Victora Bushman from Utqargvik, Alaska (left), and Tayana Arakchaa from the Republic of Tyva, Suberia (middle), and others from across the circumpolar north.
